Short CV
Theodor Kapler is a Ph.D. student at the Photogrammetry and Robotics Lab at the University of Bonn since April 2026. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Geodesy and Geoinformatics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). During his bachelor’s thesis, he worked on simultaneous semantic segmentation and monocular depth estimation using deep learning. His master’s thesis focused on the development of a real-time Gaussian splatting method using motion capture. During his studies, he worked as a student research assistant at KIT on topics including semantic segmentation, uncertainty estimation for 6D pose estimation, and optical character recognition. He has also contributed to several publications in computer vision and photogrammetry.
