Information
I have left the IPB in 2002 and I'm now with Ernst Basler + Partner AG. Please contact me at stephan(at)heuel.org
Previous Projects and Activities
- Uncertain Geometric Reasoning
I'm working on including notions of uncertainty into a framework for projective geometry dealing with points lines and planes in 2D and 3D.
In recent work we presented a calculus of projective geometric entities containing (a) representations of projective entities with its uncertainties, (b) rules of construcing entities both non-redundant and redundant and (c) hypothesis tests of relations between projective entities.
More information can be seen on the SUGR Homepage. - Matching and Grouping in 3D using topological and geometrical cues
- Tutorial
I organized a half-day tutorial on Projective Geometry for Grouping and Orientation in conjunction with the German conference on Pattern Recognition, DAGM 2001 in Munich. The subsequent tutorial on Uncertainty, Testing and Estimating of Geometric Parameters by W. Förstner covers the statistical aspects of projective geometry. There are now slides available, please check the homepage of the tutorial.
- PhD Thesis
I have finished my PhD thesis in 2002 and it is now undergoing the process of publishing. If you are interested in a pre-print, please contact stephan(at)heuel.org - Perceptual Organization
